COBRA 2026 conference in Potsdam, Germany, was an excellent place to present the results of our work in SysMito project , because COBRA software has been essential tool in the project. Of course, the conference participants could understand our results faster than in any other conference as they are very familiar to the constraint-based stoichiometric modeling approach. On November 10th 2025, our group met for lunch to get to better acquainted. We held a "tour de table," and before we knew it, the time was up—not because the lunch was short, but because everyone had such interesting and detailed stories to share!

Since 19-th November Nadezda Cistjakova has joined our team as a project recruitment and administration specialist to improve the efficiency of our group. Nadezda's education is in Biology: bachelors and masters degrees received at the University of Latvia . During studies she used ERASMUS+ program tu study at the University io Lisbon and University of Uppsala. She has gained great experience in project management while working at MGI tech Latvia 2021-2025.

Vendija Skeltona has studied and will re-start studies in Fundamental Neuroscience at the University of Maastricht, in the Netherlands. She has also a valuable earlier experience working on her bachelors work ( University of Latvia ) at Latvian Biomedical Study and Research Centre working on cancer related topics. Metabolic Pathway Analysis (MPA) conference series has been important to our group as in 2019 we organized MPA2019 in Riga . This year we were represented by three group members - Liva Lukasa , Rui Tavares and Egils Stalidzans . Wonderful building of Vienna University with a gallery of famous researchers related to the university, underlined the event as one step in history. Meetings and discussions with old and new friends is a great reward after last .
