We are excited to announce that our visiting guest student Martin Müller from the Bingen Technical University of Applied Sciences (Germany), has joined our institute to work on the life cycle assessment of macroalgae (Ulva spp.) based packaging material. He is visiting our group within the project "Life Cycle Assessment of land-based seaweed cultivation for packaging material".
The primary objective of the project is to quantify the environmental footprint associated with the cultivation of Ulva in land-based cultivation ponds and assess its environmental viability for the production of packaging materials. The project will employ LCA methodologies to analyze the entire production chain, from cultivation to product development at the laboratory scale.
We will host an open seminar on September 26 where Martin will present his research.
Seminar details are provided below.
Date: September 26, 2023
Time: 14:00 (UTC +02:00)
Location: Room 501 (5th floor), House of Nature, University of Latvia, Jelgavas iela 1, Riga, LV-1004.
We are looking forward to seeing you there. Let's come together to support and learn from our visiting researcher.
