At the beginning of December 2014 the final meeting of ERASynBio project took place in Manchester. The ERASynBio project (2012-2014) enabled Latvia to be part of the emerging field of synthetic biology. Latvia was the only representative of Eastern Europe in the project.
Several educational and networking events as well as research research project calls have facilitated integration of Latvian groups into the European synthetic biology. Biosystems group members were representatives of Latvian Academy of Sciences in the project: Egils Stalidzans was project leader while Natalja Bulipopa and Jurijs Meitalovs acted as project managers.
