The collaborative project proposal of our group and JSC "Biotehniskais centrs" has received support in the 4-th call of ERDF “Industry driven research” program.
The GenCon project (full name: Genome scale metabolic modelling linked bioreactor control system) proposes to take into account economic, environmental and societal sustainability aspects of biotechnological production during the design of biotechnological process. We are happy to continue our collaboration with the team of Juris Vanags at JSC "Biotehniskais centrs" and extend our experience in the bioreactor control system design. We plan to to start the project on June 1, 2021.
The biotechnology with annual growth rate of 7% is expected to reach turnover of 50 billion EUR by 2030.
