50 participants attended the fourth Avicenna event, identifying and discussing the challenges faced by in silico clinical trials and taking on responsibility for authorship and editing of the various sections of the Roadmap.
At the beginning of December 2014 the final meeting of ERASynBio project (www.erasynbio.eu) took place in Manchester. The ERASynBio project (2012-2014) enabled Latvia to be part of the emerging field of synthetic biology. Latvia was the only representative of Eastern Europe in the project.
ITAPIC project meeting took place in Mugla, Turkey 4.11.2014. right before the 4th International Mugla Beekeeping and Pine Honey Congress (05.-09.11.2014). Aleksejs Zacepins and Egils Stalidzans presented bee wintering results and precision beekeeping concept in plenary and poster sessions.
Continuing the traditions of international metabolic modeling course in Jelgava, Latvia a course was set by Egils Stalidzans in Larnaca, Cyprus. There were 20 participants from eight different countries.
The member of Biosystems Group Agris Pentjuss participated in the Summer School of ERASynBio "Open PLant 2014" at John Innes Centre 14.-20. September 2014. Intenisve hands on wet lab course was useful for Agris to get the feeling of laboratory. Similar treatment had Egils Stalidzans and Jurijs Meitalovs ina Synthetic Biology course in Freiburg, Spring of 2012!
